With options like raytracing and ultra-wide support, we want to give players the chance to make full use of their high-end PC gaming rigs. However, at Nixxes we also take pride in making PC games scale down to prior generation hardware. To cater to this, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PC offers a wide range of graphics settings and presets, including options without ray-tracing, like dynamic resolution scaling. Check out an overview of the recommended specifications for a variety of graphics presets below. The main difference in the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 are more advanced ray tracing options.
Concurrently, Venom recovers the meteorite that originally brought him to Earth and empowers himself with it, accelerating his infestation on New York. Peter and Miles distract Venom while Mary Jane steals the meteorite and destroys it with the EMF’s particle accelerator, destroying Venom’s symbiote horde. At Harry’s insistence, Peter destroys Venom and frees Harry from its control, but rendering Harry comatose. While investigating Kraven, Peter discovers that Kraven is dying of cancer and is looking for someone who can give him a “warrior’s death” in combat. Peter manages to retrieve the serum from Kraven, who discovers the exosuit’s weakness to loud noises.
IGN’s Spider-Man 2 walkthrough and guide features a complete map, a walkthrough, all colelctibles and much, much more. This guide was specially crafted for the PS5 version of Spider-Man 2 and also applies to the 2025 PC version. To their credit, the way you can highlight side objectives by pressing the right stick is a welcome upgrade over mere icons on a map. Even without that, you can spot ominous clouds or glowing purple rooftops with the bare eye signaling activities are there to be found.
Brooklyn Visions
Or perhaps you haven’t gone web-slinging through New York City and now that you have a PS5, you’re ready to pull down the Spidey mask and help protect New York City? No matter where you are in your Spider journey, we’ve got you covered with everything you need to know to enjoy this new video game adventure. Miles still gets his time in the spotlight, however, and has some fantastic moments towards the end of the main campaign, even if some of the more interesting explorations of his Puerto Rican/African American culture are reserved for side missions. Obviously, what you take away from the story and its diverse cast of characters will be unique to you. On the surface, it’s another thrilling superhero story packed full of surprises, cameos, and Easter eggs – but there are deeper meanings to be found here, too.
Instead, Spider-Man 2 plumps for a pretty confused take on the now venerable black suit/Venom’s origin storyline. It’s mashed together with an uncharacteristically large-scale invasion of New York by Kraven the Hunter (seeking worthy super-powered prey) and a tangle of other subplots and returning villains. The plot points are outlandish, the themes muddy, and Miles doesn’t really have enough to do. None of that’s necessarily a dealbreaker, though—the real problem is the characters. Though not wildly different mechanically (they’re separated mostly by a different set of combat powers), the two do feel impressively different, largely thanks to top notch animation work and a commendable attention to detail. How much this dual protagonist feature actually adds to the game is a little questionable I think, but the execution is undeniably slick.
You can still swing away to escape, but a well-timed parry not only stops the incoming attack but leaves an enemy vulnerable to further damage. And then there’s the new Web Line mechanic which lets you craft your own high wire paths across specific points in the environment, giving you even more control and flexibility over stealth takedowns. While Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) was released on PS4 and later ported to PS5 and PC, the sequel stuck its guns to the PS5 platform alone. That leads to the obvious balance that Sony and Nixxes have struck with this game. For the best-looking graphics, you’ll need a top-spec, modern gaming rig with a ray tracing-capable GPU. However, if you’re still playing on your potato PC of old, you might just be able to handle 720p gameplay, giving just about every type of gamer the chance to swing around the rooftops.

Building combos, dodging attacks, and using your arsenal of gadgets to control the battlefield is the bread and butter of combat. These mechanics paired with the cinematic cuts of action sequences build up an amazing spectacle both of fluid movement and stunning visuals. After playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, fans began to worry about the future of Peter Parker, but the actor playing his role assures that the character will return in the next game.
I’m currently studying Journalism and write for EarlyGame’s Gaming and LoL categories. Whether it’s Stardew Valley, Dead by Daylight or even League of Legends, I love playing and writing about all sorts of video games! With the Spider-Men slinging around some serious upgrades, it makes sense that the skill trees have experienced a boost, too. There are now three different skill trees to develop as the game progresses. The two individual strands focus on what makes each hero unique, such as Miles’ bioelectricity and invisibility, and Peter’s Spider-Arms and Symbiote powers.
The sequel features two main playable characters – Peter Parker and Miles Morales. This time the superheroes must face two primary villains – Kraven the Hunter and Venom. For those with a hazy memory, there is a brief recap of both Peter and Miles’ stories so far available, which is handy, as this is very much a sequel that weaves in both plotlines and characters from the previous games and accompanying DLC.
Peter Parker’s symbiote black suit gives him unique abilities, while Miles places focus on his bio-electric skills. You can play as Peter and replay as Miles, each time enjoying a unique experience. Of course, a hero is nothing without its villains, and Spider-Man’s rogues gallery is almost unparalleled. Outside of the likes of Venom, Kraven, and Lizard seen in the trailers, Insomniac has kept many more cards hidden up its sleeve. I won’t even hint at any of these except to say that Spider-Man 2 opens with a bang, offering up a sense of scale not previously seen in the series.
And while we know Peter will be able to wield Symbiote powers at some stage, there’s no telling if Venom himself will eventually join forces with the spidey duo, perhaps uniting against the common threat of Kraven The Hunter. Obviously, it wouldn’t be a Spider-Man game without the man of the hour, Peter Parker. https://tg8899.net/ will reprise the role of Spidey in Insomniac’s sequel, stepping into the shoes of the friendly neighborhood hero – though he won’t be alone. The first full-fledged sequel is just around the corner, as the first-party PlayStation studio is close to bringing the Marvel icon’s next story to life. The Spider-Man 2 minimum specs almost completely mimic those of Horizon Forbidden West, which is no surprise given that both games are PS5 ports that use expansive open worlds with a high level of graphical fidelity.
But they aren’t just a flashy addition from the comics and movies – they entirely change how you navigate around Marvel’s New York. Marvel’s Spider-Man is an action-adventure game released in February 2018 for PS4 and later ported to PS5 and PC platforms. The Spider-Man superhero from Marvel Comics serves as the inspiration for the game, which Insomniac Games and Sony Interactive Entertainment are both publishing. Each and every suit will reportedly feature a ‘symbiote variant version’ according to FandomWire. This could see our heroes using Venom’s symbiote powers to their advantage.
Insomniac and Sony Interactive Entertainment continue to collaborate on the franchise, releasing the sequel on PS5 platforms. Not only that, but during open-world gameplay, players will be able to freely swap between Peter Parker and Miles Morales at the touch of a button, akin to GTA 5’s character-swapping feature.
