Venom also appeared for a brief moment in the reveal trailer, and again in the more recent Story Trailer too. And while we know Peter will be able to wield Symbiote powers at some stage, there’s no telling if Venom himself will eventually join forces with the spidey duo, perhaps uniting against the common threat of Kraven The Hunter. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was first revealed during Sony’s 2021 PlayStation Showcase event. The initial trailer gave us a look at Peter Parker and Miles Morales in action together, with Venom joining the fight at the very end.
Shortly after this, Peter obtains the anti-Venom suit, which proves to be a crucial weapon in removing the Symbiote from Harry. MArvel’s Spider-Man 2 gave players more information about Kraven beyond his motivations. Peter, Harry and MJ go to the fair and share memories of their past while going on many theme park rides.

Gone is the gadget wheel that you have to pause the action to access. Instead, there are 4 combat abilities for each character, and 4 shared gadgets. Insomniac brought back the ability to change the super-suit you have equipped.
Though hotfixes are flying thick and fast as I finish out this review, for me the patches have so far failed to tackle frequent crashes to desktop. I find it difficult to diagnose my experience—while others have seen wide-ranging performance issues, for me the game runs smoothly, until it suddenly doesn’t. Without warning, in seemingly undemanding scenes and without any preceding slowdown, the game simply gives up, citing only nonsensical display driver issues. So far it’s happened about once every 30 minutes, seeming to be more frequent during story missions. Following the conclusions of their respective solo adventures they’re now a tight-knit crime-fighting duo, but both are predictably still struggling to juggle their superhero callings with their personal responsibilities. It’s hard not to feel, though, that Peter’s inability to hold down a job or progress his relationship with MJ feels a little higher stakes than Miles… procrastinating over his college application?
They’re unique as the only collectibles in Spider-Man 2 that aren’t marked directly on the map. Instead, you need to locate all 42 of them by looking for the large, colorful spheres that pulse periodically. You’ll find all Spider-Bot locations in Spider-Man 2 in this guide.
Like many of the game’s quests, the central premise transforms what you’d think superhero work typically looks like. After saving stolen artifacts for the museum, Miles remembers his departed father through his connection to jazz. “My dad really loved Charlie Parker… I guess I need to start listening closer to my playlist now,” he muses. These reflective moments deepen not only the game’s stand-out side content, but also its larger plot. This a dedicated section for the small number of suits that are specifically tied to and/or unlocked within the main story, and therefore are inherently spoilers for certain plot developments or reveals. Insomniac confirmed back in October 2024 that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 would be coming to PC on January 30, 2025. Peter also briefly appeared in Across the Spider-Verse in both versions of his Advanced Suit. Spider-Bots are the hardest Collectible to find in Spider-Man 2, because unlike the other Collectibles, they aren’t automatically marked on the map. Missing In Action
On PS5 in 2023, Spider-Man 2 at least served as an impressive technical showcase for the hardware, and a blockbuster release in a relatively quiet release schedule. On PC in 2025, without those advantages and in a disappointingly shaky state, it’s much more difficult to recommend. My hope for this sequel was that with the core action already perfected, there would be the space to improve on the wider formula, creating a more interesting New York playground. Instead, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 simply has more stuff—a bigger story, more pointless collectibles, sprawling skill trees, and double the Spider-Men. Feel the force of web-swinging with adaptive triggers, while haptic feedback responds to Peter Parker’s new symbiote abilities and Miles Morales’ evolved bio-electric skills.
Suits are the key behind unique abilities in terms of both combat and traversal. The sequel is sure to introduce plenty of new Spidey suits for both Peter and Miles, though another layer of depth could be on the way. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is close, with Insomniac Games currently working on a follow-up to their acclaimed PlayStation title from 2018. The best thing MJ contributes to this game is when she turns into Scream. She vents her frustrations with herself and Peter in a way that shows she isn’t this perfect paragon she’s presented as the rest of the time. Lean into that and show that she’s just as flawed as the main two heroes, and more people might actually start to like her. OK365 falls into the most common pitfall of big open world games.
Miles completes his college essay and meets Rio’s new boyfriend, Albert Moon, who introduces them to his daughter Cindy.
While Peter rescues civilians, he is assisted by a super-powered Harry, who learns about Peter’s double life. Harry reveals that, on his father Norman Osborn’s insistence, he was cured by Curt Connors via a powerful organic exosuit that physically augments his body. With the exosuit’s powers rapidly developing, Harry helps Peter rescue Tombstone while Mary Jane discovers that Kraven has kidnapped Connors. The trio attempt to save Connors, but Kraven forcibly turns him back into the Lizard, steals the serum needed to transform him back and mortally wounds Peter.
Mysterio’s working at the park as well, running an augmented reality project. The young webhead has to battle through various scenarios, thinking Mysterio’s using the hallucination tech for crimes. Kraven injects Connors with a new Lizard serum, turning him into the iconic giant creature. This version has a full-fledged alligator look, nodding to Mortal Kombat 1’s Reptile. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 includes a plethora of suits for both Miles and Peter, but some outrank others in terms of style.
